In blatant defiance of the free market, the third Atlas Shrugged movie comes out this fall. (The first Atlas Shrugged movie made $4,627,375 on a budget somewhere between ten and twenty million dollars. The second Atlas Shrugged movie made $3,336,053 on a budget of $16 million. Rand herself would deride these films as failures of capitalism.) But the threequel is going to feature very important guest stars, The Hollywood Reporter, uh, reports:

Former congressman and three-time presidential candidate Ron Paul will make his acting debut in the third installment of the Atlas Shrugged film trilogy, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. The film also will feature several other prominent conservative personalities with little or no acting experience, including Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity.

I don't think all the "star power" in the world will convince people to watch the third movie in a trilogy that they've otherwise skipped over. But then Ron Paul's one real talent lies in his ability to convince people to do really stupid things in his name. Maybe his presence will produce a tiny bit of a box office bump for Atlas Shrugged Part III. I mean, at this late stage it certainly couldn't hurt.
