A Shanghai broadcaster, Dragon TV, reported Sunday that Husi repackaged old beef and chicken and put new expiration dates on them. It said they were sold to McDonald's, KFC and Pizza Hut restaurants.
The company in question, Shanghai's Husi Food Co., has had its food processing plant "sealed." It is owned by OSI Group of Aurora, Illinois. Starbucks, Burger King, Papa Johnâs, McDonaldâs, KFC, and Pizza Hut were all using meat from Husi. They all say they've stopped. Husi, for its part, is "appalled" by the report about its own meat. Globalization and factory farming lead to these global factory nightmares.
