I'd reckon Lou Reed's pre-Velvet Underground adventures as a studio musician are pretty well known. After he moved to NYC, he became a studio player and wrote for exploitation and reissue label Pickwick, so he appears on a handful of "labels" and in a few different "bands." Till today, I knew about the Primitives, the Jades, and the All Night Workers, but then I found THIS: "Cycle Annie" by the Beachnuts!

This track was issued on the Design label compilation Out of Sight; "Cycle Annie" was an extra track, padding. Oh, I also found another track, "I've Got a Tiger in My Tank," with a Lou Reed cowriter credit. It was recorded by the Intimates on Epic and then by the Jalopy Five on the budget label Hit.
