Most Hate Crimes in Seattle Committed Against Gays and Lesbians: Seattle police report that in the first half of 2014, gays and lesbians made up 35 percent of bias incidents in the city, reports Q13 Fox News. Most of the incidents against gays and lesbians took place in the East Precinct, which includes Capitol Hill, Central Area, First Hill, Judkins Park, Madison Park, Montlake, and the upper Pike/Pine neighborhood. Incidents against African Americans made up the second highest amount, at 18 percent. The report comes days after a man yelled ā€œall gay people would be killedā€ because he was denied entry to a Capitol Hill nightclub.

City Council Finalizes Rules for Micro-Housing: As West Seattle Blog reports, they include a name (Small Efficiency Dwelling Units, or SEDU) and requirements including a 150-square-foot-minimum sleeping area, a 220-square-foot-minimum total floor area, a food preparation area (sink, refrigerator, countertop, cooking appliance), and a bathroom (sink, toilet, shower, or bathtub).
