Yesterday morning we unveiled a brand-new online calendar: "Things to Do" is where you'll find every important event happening in Seattle in one place—food events, movie listings, live music, comedy shows, major sporting events, art shows, theater and dance performances, readings, haunted houses, you name it. It's everything happening right now that we know about. If you click on "Recommended Only" at the top of the page, it shows you the very best stuff among all the things happening today. There are 35 recommended things to do today. Yes, even though it's a rainy Tuesday. Yes, including a whole bunch of stuff you probably didn't know about. Not to brag, but we think it’s the best online events calendar anywhere.

There are more events in it than ever before, as well as pretty pictures, recommended nearby things to do at the end of each listing, and cross-referenced information about venues and restaurants. If you want to search by venue or restaurant, you can do that too: For example, here are all the restaurants in Ballard we recommend.

If you don't care what's happening tonight, but you do care what's happening on Halloween, you can search by date by clicking the calendar at the top left of the page. Here's everything happening on Halloween that we know about. Beginning with Satori Group's Spookhaus, a haunted house Frizzelle saw last year and loved.

In some sections, such as our music calendar, you can get even more specific with your query—for example, here are all the metal shows happening on Halloween. You’re welcome.

And this calendar looks just as beautiful on your mobile phone as it does on your desktop or tablet.

As for the rest of our site? We're tinkering with that too. In the coming weeks, we'll unveil even more changes that will make reading pieces and navigating between pieces even easier, no matter what device you read The Stranger on. (Yeah, we know how hard it is to read some of our pieces on a mobile phone, and we're on it.) But the calendar is the first thing that's ready. We’ve worked really hard on this and hope you like it! Go look around, spend some time, and tell us what you think in the comments.
