DINA MARTINA AND CHRISTMAS GO TOGETHER LIKE BOOZE AND EGG NOG

Dina Martina Christmas Show @ Re-Bar
"Over the years, The Stranger has called Dina Martina many things, including "a one-woman Circus of the Stars," a "walrus prostitute," "a cut-rate Elizabeth Taylor impersonator who went skydiving but her parachute failed and she crash-landed into a Shoney's buffet," and a Genius. (Dina creator Grady West won the Stranger Genius Award for performance in 2012.) For the uninitiated: Dina Martina is a singer who cannot sing, a dancer who cannot dance, and a storyteller who seems to have situational brain damage. And her shows are the weirdest, funniest, most oddly heartwarming stage extravaganzas you'll ever see." DAVID SCHMADER

CAJMERE'S SWEAT INDUCING DANCE-FLOOR PANDEMONIUM

Cajmere @ Q Nightclub
Whether he’s using his Green Velvet handle or Cajmere, Chicago house icon Curtis Jones instigates dance-floor pandemonium. Tonight he’ll be wearing his Cajmere sweat-inducing persona, which means more traditional-leaning house tracks. With nearly a quarter century of experience behind the decks and in the studio, Jones knows more about moving masses of bodies than the Chicago Transit Authority. He’s also a staunch Christian, but his music’s so infectious and galvanizing that it overcomes my bias against true believers. DAVE SEGAL

DANCER AND PRANCER'S XMAS EXTRAVAGANZA
XMAS Extravaganza @ Chop Suey
All I want for Christmas is right here on this lineup. It’s finally the season for Seattle’s premier holidaycore surf band Dancer & Prancer to emerge from the North Pole (or wherever they live the rest of the year) to drum up holiday cheer with spirited surf renditions of Christmas classics at their two-night Xmas Extravaganza, which kicks off tonight. Oakland headliners Shannon and the Clams are that over-the-top gift you asked for but couldn’t even dream that you’d actually get, delivering magic-sprinkled, surf-y garage rock that will grow the heart size of even the grumpiest grinch. Plus delightful weirdo heartthrobs Gazebos! Plus Connie & the Precious Moments (who promise to be better than those creepy Precious Moments dolls)! Joy to the world, fa-la-la, let’s drink eggnog, ’cause this show is gonna rule. ROBIN EDWARDS

DISCO DROPPINGS DROPS BASS BOMBS

Disco Droppings @ Kremwerk
Jimi Jaxon’s Disco Droppings night invades Kremwerk once again with a big lineup of brainy electronic musicians and DJs. Headliner and analog-synth master GOODWIN comes up to Seattle (his former home) often to prove his mettle as one of the Northwest’s finest form-tweaking house producers. GOODWIN’S fantastic Ramparts 12-inch on Debacle Records’ MOTOR imprint mostly avoids the nostalgia-burdened tropes of many in this venerable genre and forges an extraordinarily textured and rhythmically eccentric brand of dance music. His live sets have been generating an increasing amount of heat, too. Seattle’s WMD (not to be confused with another local WMD who creates chiptune music) creates stripped-down, remorseless techno that could fit well into a DJ set next to Sandwell District and British Murder Boys tracks. Greyspot is an emerging Seattle techno producer and remixer with a deft handle on tough, driving, and melodic techno. DAVE SEGAL
