Today, Tom Spurgeon at the Comics Reporter published a very long interview with me. Topics discussed include how I moved to Seattle and got my job at The Stranger, why Seattle's comics scene is booming right now, the problem of nostalgia, the importance of Emerald City Comicon and Short Run to the comics calendar year, Seattle's acceptance of Fantagraphics Books as a world-class publisher, and whether comics in general are moving forward or backward as an art form.

It feels weird to link to an interview with me on Slog, but Spurgeon is a thoughtful interviewer who asks all the right questions, and so he kept the focus of the piece exactly where it belongs: on Seattle.

If you're looking for an overview of where Seattle's comics scene is right now, this is a pretty good place to start.
