Do you think Republicans would be less likely to hate yoga pants if we reminded them Lululemon was founded by an Ayn Rand fanatic?

Everybody's focusing on Jeb Bush's horrific tech-oriented gaffes from earlier this week—he fired that misogynistic chief technology officer after some racist blog posts were uncovered, and he leaked his constituents' personal information—but we're also not focusing enough on the fact that Bush is releasing the e-mails from his time in office because he's "eager to look tech savvy." A former Jeb Bush spokesman told Politico that the release of the e-mails “shows at a very personal level he’s been comfortable with technology, with e-mail, probably before many elected officials were using it.” But who the hell brags about their use of e-mail to demonstrate their tech-savviness? Bush has spent a lot of time and and a lot of staff and a lot of money in order to praise his own ability to use e-mail. Frankly, it's a weird strategy for a guy who's desperate to cast himself as the future-thinking candidate. But maybe it makes sense when you consider that he's running for president in a party that wants to turn back the clock to a time before yoga pants.

Montana state representative David Moore is trying to expand local indecent exposure laws. According to the Billings Gazette, his plan could result in arrests for "nipple exposure, including men’s, and [wearing] any garment that 'gives the appearance or simulates' a person’s buttocks, genitals, pelvic area, or female nipple." This does not technically include yoga pants, although Moore huffed to the Associated Press that “yoga pants should be illegal in public anyway." Does Moore realize he's about two steps away from inventing the burka? I suspect if some reporter asked Moore a relatively innocent question about rape, they'd probably get a doozy of an answer.

So this is your Republican Party for 2015! They're proud of their e-mail use, they're weak on digital security, and they're against women wearing form-fitting clothes in public. Welcome to the future!
