Roz Edison and Kamala Saxton—the women responsible for the Marination Mobile food truck, as well as Capitol Hill’s Marination Station, West Seattle’s Marination Ma Kai, and the recently opened Good Bar in Pioneer Square—will open a new restaurant in the heart of Columbia City this fall. The as-yet-unnamed restaurant will be housed in a former auto body shop just two blocks from eateries such as Columbia City Bakery, Tutta Bella, and Senegalese spot La Teranga. As at the other Marination restaurants, the menu will be Asian-Hawaiian-focused. It will serve morning coffee and snacks, lunch and dinner, as well as weekend brunch. (South Seattle residents are hoping it will include the kimchi fried rice bowl.)

Ethan Stowell to Open Restaurant in the Four Seasons Hotel
Ethan Stowell is creating a new restaurant to replace ART Restaurant & Lounge in the Four Seasons Hotel, and will bring in chef Joe Ritchie, currently at Stowell’s Mkt., to lead the kitchen. The still-unnamed restaurant, which is set to open in mid-May, marks Stowell’s return to downtown since his first restaurant, Union, closed in 2010. (It was located just across the street.) Stowell is also working on a new pizzeria in Frelard and a gastropub in Ballard that, when open, will bring his total Seattle restaurant count to 12.

Spaghetti Western Closes
Sad news: Less than five months after closing his beloved restaurant La BĂȘte and reimagining it as the more casual, pasta-burger-barbecue joint Spaghetti Western, chef Aleks Dimitrijevich announced that he is closing his restaurant again. In a Facebook post, Dimitrijevich wrote, “Five years of exhausting work, no vacations and no free time will suffice as reason enough.” He also stated that, after he takes a few days off, the restaurant space will be available for pop-ups and private events.

Fried Food Alert!
Tomorrow, April 1, Capitol Hill’s Bait Shop is planning an April Fool’s Day overhaul and transforming into a one-night-only "chain-themed restaurant and bar" called Derschangigan’s (named after owner Linda Derschang of Linda’s, Oddfellows, King's Hardware, et al). Guests can expect entirely new decor inspired by “vintage movie posters, old license plates, oversized playing cards, actual bags of trash, TMZ, and the band One Direction," as well as Blooming Onion-style appetizers, Appletinis, and Tropical Blitz Spritzes.

Then on Friday, April 3, Capitol Hill’s Pike Street Fish Fry is holding another Free Fry Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. Simply stop in and get a free order of fries, no strings attached. You don’t even have to buy a drink (though $1 Hamm’s are available until 4 p.m.).
