Earlier this week I posted a long list of the restaurants opening in Seattle this year. There are so many, I missed a few. Thanks, Slog readers, for reminding me of what else is in store.
Coming Soon
• I'm kicking myself for having overlooked Edouardo Jordan's Salare, one of the restaurants I am anticipating the most, which will open shortly in Ravenna. Salare's website is counting down the hours—and, as of this moment, we're a mere nine days and 23 hours away.
• On Capitol Hill, Herb & Bitter Public House will be opening in early June, according to bar manager Leroy Thomas. The bar program will focus on Italian Amari and barrel-aged spirits, while the food will be Spanish-style tapas.
• Also on Capitol Hill, chef Jerry Traunfeld will open Lionhead next door to his beloved Poppy in late spring. Lionhead will serve Chinese food, with an emphasis on Sichuanese cuisine. According to Slog tipper Chris, "As a former [Traunfeld] employee and someone who has eaten his take on Szechuan...we should all be quite excited."
• Makini Howell (Plum Bistro), who closed Capitol Hill's Plum Cafe late last year, will reopen it as Sugar Plum, a vegan sweet shop and creamery this spring.
• Kurt Farm Shop, scooping up excellent, handmade ice cream since May 1, was the first business in Capitol Hill's Chophouse Row complex to open its doors. Others coming soon: Matt Dillon's Upper Bar Ferd'nand and Amandine, a bakery from Sara and Bruce Naftaly (Le Gourmand).
Coming Soonish (July/August/September)
• Orfeo, from Kevin and Terresa Davis (Steelhead Diner, Blueacre Seafood), is slated for an August opening in Belltown.
Coming This Fall
• Chef Eric Donnelly (RockCreek) will open FlintCreek Cattle Co. in Greenwood. Despite its name, the restaurant will focus on meats like buffalo, venison, and bison, according to Seattle Met.
• In Columbia City, Kamala Saxton and Roz Edison (Marination Mobile, Marination Station, Marination Ma Kai) will open Super Six, which will serve their Hawaiian-influenced food and include an outdoor beer garden.
