Shannon Braddock—currently leading in West Seattle's District 1—and her mom on election night. Kathleen Richards

Another day, another ballot count from Tuesday's election. Like yesterday, incumbents and (relatively) moderate, business-backed candidates remain in the lead, but a couple of races are very, very close.

In West Seattle, Shannon Braddock is leading Lisa Herbold by just 638 votes. At least 4,682 ballots* are left to be counted in that district, according to the county's latest ballot return statistics.

In District 2, covering southeast Seattle, incumbent Bruce Harrell is ahead of his challenger Tammy Morales by just 776 votes. There, at least 3,269 ballots* still have to be counted.

Northeast Seattle's District 4 isn't as close, with transportation nerd Rob Johnson holding his lead ahead of lefty Michael Maddux by 1,167 votes.

Along with Herbold and Morales, the trend of late returns leaning left is good news for the campaign finance reform measure known as Honest Elections and the Let's Move Seattle transportation levy, both of which have increased their margins of victory slightly.

*It's important to note that the results were updated tonight just before 7 p.m., but the total number of ballots returned hasn't been updated since last night at 8 p.m., so my calculations for ballots left to count are probably low. Citywide, at least 31,798 ballots remain uncounted.
