I'd trust a wet couch left out on the street over CNN at this point, but these numbers are really something:
Donald Trump holds a commanding lead in Iowa as Sen. Bernie Sanders takes control of the Democratic race in the critical first-in-the-nation voting state, according to a new CNN/ORC poll released Thursday.
Trump leads Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, who is in second place in the GOP race, among likely Republican caucus-goers...
Sanders, meanwhile, has opened up an eight-point lead over Democratic rival Hillary Clinton, leading her in Iowa 51% to 43% among likely Democratic presidential caucus-goers.
A week ago, Sanders was three points behind Clinton in Iowa. It's worth remembering that Iowa chose a less-experienced guy over Clinton eight years ago, and also that "there's a wide gap between what polls say and how people vote," and also—not exactly a reassuring thought for Clintonites—that "a few Bernie Sanders victories could be just what Hillary Clinton needs." I guess that's true. A few unexpected Clinton losses could really stoke the fundraising flames, as Matt Baume, citing the New York Times, pointed out, "motivating donors who had been sitting out until they perceived a need."
