Talking Points Memo:

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) has had high expectations for himself since he was a high school student in Houston in the '80s. In a YouTube video flagged Saturday by Politico, the 18-year-old Cruz said he wanted to "you know, rule everything" after someone off-camera asked him what his "aspirations" in life are. Being a teenage boy, Cruz responded with, "Aspirations? Is that like sweat on my butt?" ... But then he moved on to more serious goals: world domination. "Well, other than that, take over the world, world domination, you know, rule everything," he continued. "Rich, powerful, that sort of stuff."

The most disturbing part of the video: Watch with the sound off... then go look in a mirror and ask yourself this question: "Would I have slept with Ted Cruz if we had gone to college together?" It's an awful thought: there might have been a time when you would've done him.

In other Cruz nuz: Ted lied about losing his health insurance due to Obamacare. The story he's told on the campaign trail about how he financed his rogue senate run? Also a big fat lie. Cruz lies constantly and way, way back in March of last year The Nation predicted that Cruz's filthy, lying mouth would at some point become his biggest liability. But as of right now... running against this guy is Cruz's biggest liability:

Real-estate mogul Donald Trump declared on Monday that it's time for Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) to either figure out his Canada "problem" or drop out of the 2016 race. "It's time for Ted Cruz to either settle his problem with the FACT that he was born in Canada and was a citizen of Canada, or get out of race," Trump wrote on Twitter. Cruz was born in Canada to an American mother. Most legal experts believe that Cruz meets the Constitutional requirement that presidents are "natural-born" citizens. But Trump has argued on a daily basis that voters should not back Cruz if there's any doubt over his eligibility for the Oval Office.

At the last GOP debate Cruz accused Trump of attacking him because The Ted had overtaken The Donald in some polls. Trump admitted it—refreshingly candid!—and guess what? Trump's attacks on Cruz appear to be working—if you believe the polls. And maybe you shouldn't believe the polls.
