This collection—part of SIFF’s continuing two-week celebration of all things Muppety—features Sesame Street performances from Cab Calloway, Ray Charles, and Johnny Cash (who sings “Nasty Dan” with Oscar the Grouch), along with parodies (Cookie Monster as Isaac Hayes singing “Cookie Disco” to the tune of “Shaft” has to be seen in a theater full of kids to be truly appreciated) and original songs. This music has been tattooed into your most tender synapses: You can’t hear the opening bars of “Rubber Duckie” without feeling your inner toddler lurch excitedly back and forth.
