Streaming in from the Moon is an 11-hour carnival for lovers of performance art, dance, bodies, sex, ecstasy, vengeance, feminism, and excess. It’s a symposium in honor of the influential artist Carolee Schneemann, who has a retrospective at the museum. (I’d also recommend her lecture the night before the symposium.) The symposium includes academic lectures by visiting scholars (“Meat Joy and the Modernist Body,” mmm), intellectual forums (with input from a women’s historian from Sarah Lawrence who specializes in burlesque and obscenity law), film screenings, and discussion groups (the artist will be present), followed by a reception involving Waxie Moon and more. (Henry Art Gallery, 15th Ave NE & NE 41st St, www.henryart.org, 10 am–9 pm, $25)
