Led by guitarist/vocalist John Dwyer, Thee Oh Sees are the rare rock band that improves with age. Adding Stranger Genius Lars Finberg to an already strong lineup has given them more nuance and power beat-wise; the move seems almost unfair to the rest of America’s indie scene. Thousands of contemporary bands try to make garage rock sound unmusty to 21st-century ears, but most fail. Thee Oh Sees miraculously transform it into something melodically infectious, texturally fascinating, and rhythmically riveting. (Crocodile, 2200 Second Ave, www.thecrocodile.com, 8 pm, $10, 21+)
