Bushwick Book Club BOOKS/MUSIC
Bushwick Book Club

Bushwick Book Club always delivers new music by great local musicians (Led to Sea, Bucket of Honey, and Tai Shan) based on a popular work of literature. But tonight’s inspiration isn’t just any old book, it’s the book that launched a million acid trips: Hunter S. Thompson’s Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Expect songs about bats, lizard-faced creatures in cop uniforms, and unpleasant combinations of drugs and firearms, but also expect to hear echoes of what made Thompson so damn good: Beneath all the cynicism and rage, there’s a raging inferno of hope. (Town Hall, 1119 Eighth Ave, www.strangertickets.com, 8 pm, $13, all ages)

Seattle Rock Orchestra is backing up all of the musicians as well! This will be a wall of sound not to be missed!

We all know SRO kicks ass! And we also know that books do as well! We'll see you there.
