Bushwick Book Club always delivers new music by great local musicians (Led to Sea, Bucket of Honey, and Tai Shan) based on a popular work of literature. But tonights inspiration isnt just any old book, its the book that launched a million acid trips: Hunter S. Thompsons Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Expect songs about bats, lizard-faced creatures in cop uniforms, and unpleasant combinations of drugs and firearms, but also expect to hear echoes of what made Thompson so damn good: Beneath all the cynicism and rage, theres a raging inferno of hope. (Town Hall, 1119 Eighth Ave, www.strangertickets.com, 8 pm, $13, all ages) by Paul Constant
