Michael Fassbender is brilliant as a wealthy, sex-addicted New Yorker on a mission of self-destruction that could claim the life of his equally fucked-up little sister. Shame probably won’t win any Oscars—too much schlong, none of it Harvey Keitel’s—but its riveting performances explore emotions that modern cinema rarely dares to touch.
