Northwest Tofu FOOD & DRINK
Northwest Tofu

The Northwest Tofu restaurant is located in the front section of a working tofu factory. While the ambience is of the office-waiting-room variety, the old-school Chinese food is delicious (and includes meat dishes). Their salt-and-pepper tofu is a terrific combination of seasoned crispy fried crust and silky smooth inside, best when augmented with some garlic chili condiment. Be sure to check out the factory in the back—the tofu-making process is fascinating. You can also buy freshly made tofu, tofu skin, and soy milk to take home with you. (Northwest Tofu, 1913 S Jackson St, 328-8320, 7:30 am–4 pm, cash only)
