Brooklyn contemporary shoegaze outfit A Place to Bury Strangers have been called “the loudest band in New York.” (An oddly specific designation, to be sure.) At any rate, they’re fucking loud. The trio take what are essentially basic pop constructions and submerge them in an ocean of volume, distortion, and reverb. Go ahead, drown in it—medical technology is making some wonderful advances in hearing aids. (Crocodile, 2200 Second Ave, www.thecrocodile.com, 8 pm, $12, all ages)
