Sarah Polley’s new (sorta) romantic comedy(ish) Take This Waltz opens with a portrait of a strong, loving (and slightly too-cute) marriage between young writers, played by an understated Seth Rogen and a nuanced Michelle Williams. The wife flirts with a charming neighbor and things escalate into an emotional car wreck. It’s not easy to watch—if you’re expecting a Canadian Apatow movie, you’ll leave the theater sobbing—but it’s some kind of filmmaking revelation. Waltz will break your heart and get on your last nerve and confound your expectations and live inside your head forever. (See Movie Times)
