One of the many great things about Steven Soderberghs Magic Mike is how different audiences experience it in wildly different ways. Fags and horny bachelorettes swoon at the acres of dazzlingly exposed man flesh. (Who knew being pandered to sexually was so enjoyable?) Discerning moviegoers delight at the films summery bubbliness (certain segments give off a light art-house Porkys vibe) that doesnt preclude the heart and brain. And cultural critics marvel at Magic Mikes sharp critique of American possibility in a down economy. The acting is good, the filmmaking is very good, and the dancing is ridiculously entertaining.
