Crumble & Flake FOOD & DRINK
Crumble & Flake

There’s a good reason there’s a line out the door at Capitol Hill’s Crumble & Flake every morning, and that reason is butter. Pastry chef Neil Robertson does ah-maze-ing things with butter. From his simple and perfectly flaky croissants to his small and tender scones (in both sweet and savory flavors), there isn’t a baked good in C&F’s small glass case that isn’t worth a 20-minute wait. While you’re there, grab some cookies for later in the day—especially the Chewy-O. You’d be a fool not to get the Chewy-O. (Crumble & Flake, 1500 E Olive Way, www.crumbleandflake.com, 7 am–3 pm)
