Seattle Lesbian & Gay Film Festival

Back for a 17th (!) year, SLGFF is packed with movies by/for/about queer people that you won’t see anywhere else. Tonight’s opening extravaganza features Struck by Lightning, the high-school dramedy about a blackmail-happy student written by and starring Glee’s Chris Colfer. The next 10 days bring a parade of delights, including Cheryl Dunye’s pomo porn Mommy Is Coming, the glam-rock doc Jobriath A.D., the local-star-packed Waxie Moon: Fallen Jewel, and so much more. (Various locations, see www.threedollarbillcinema.org for full schedule, Oct 11–21)
