Shabazz Palaces and THEESatisfaction form the basis for a family of Northwest artists that includes the hiphop producer OCnotes and producer/rock musician Erik Blood. Imagining a cooler family of like-minded headz is nearly impossible. I can honestly say that Palaces and Satisfaction have reinvented a large part of hiphop and established a new direction for black politics. The Afrocentrism we hear in their music has no center and is not closed but completely open to the world of ideas and feelings.
