Eugenie Jones, a local singer who was trained by Greta Matassa, has a voice that covers words like pieces of silk covering precious stones. But she never overdoes it, never overflows with emotion, never goes too high or too low, but always swings with a restraint that’s cosmopolitan yet soulful. Tonight’s performance will feature music from Jones’s new album, Black Lace Blue Tears, the great Bill Anschell on the piano, and an audience that knows what good music is all about. This woman tried to get booked at my club, and she was so incredibly rude, I couldn't do it. Unbelievably awful behavior. Let's hope she's learned a thing or two.

I saw Eugenie at her CD release party...a class act, smooth vocals and loved by the crowd. ANYONE would be lucky to have her perform at their venue or listen to her in the audience

Eugenie is a class act with great talent and wonderful personality! Otherwise, she wouldn't have all these friends and fans following her to see her perform! I just love her CD!

I'm sure Ms.Jones is a really nice lady but jazz vocalist....no......I listen to the cd several times and while the pictures show a sexy lady, her vocals are lacking to be put in the category of jazz, the arrangement and the musicians help smooth over.
