La Toscanella’s large pastry case (aka heaven) is filled with colorful fruit tarts, fat slices of custardy rice pie, a variety of seasonal cheesecakes, short stacks of delicate mousse, and at least a dozen different kinds of Italian cookies at any given time, and everything I’ve sampled has been incredible. They also serve breakfast (a variety of egg dishes, mostly) all day, as well as rotating pasta specials for lunch and dinner, but they certainly won’t judge you if you skip straight to the sugar fix.
