Seattle artist Deborah Lawrence’s glass ornament bearing the words “IMPEACH BUSH” once made it onto the White House Christmas tree until it was removed by Laura Bush herself. Now the rabble-rousing leftist collagist with the sardonic tone of voice and vibrating visuals is showing new pieces, mostly 12 inches to a side or smaller. Like Martha Rosler, she sets clueless 1950s housewives against backgrounds floating in guns and violence. She jokes and punches, on subjects ranging from Guantanamo to geographical narcissism, bad art to buried history, and her favorite pacifists. Under their layer of finely applied varnish, the surfaces are as smooth as they are bold. (Joe Bar, 810 E Roy St, joebarcafe.com, 7:30 am–9:30 pm, free, through Aug 4)
