People have called Best Coast âchillwave,â but that term is as illusive as âhipster,â so I like to think of the lo-fi band as âbeachcore.â Donât get that confused with Jimmy Buffett, thoughâBest Coast are more magical than novelty. There arenât any songs about margaritas (I donât think), but their relaxed, fluid pop is slightly distorted and fuzzy, like the sonic equivalent of a lens flare glowing in the corner of all your vacation photos. Arrive on time to see local opener Cumulus. The Seattle band was recently signed to Trans-Records, run by Death Cab for Cutieâs Chris Walla.
