The full title of this show by Adrien Leavitt is Sweet Angels—You Have Made Me No Longer Afraid of Death. Leavitt, a photographer who publishes an excellent local photo zine called #1 must have, makes thoughtful and empowering images that celebrate the richness and diversity of non-mainstream queerness. Sweet Angels is a showing of Leavitt’s more personal work, never included in the zine, shot on real film with a Polaroid land camera. If tonight’s exhibit is anything like the past couple months of showings at Hard L Gallery, presented by mostly women and queer artists, you will walk away feeling nothing less than inspired. (Hard L Gallery, 1216 10th Ave, 6–10 pm, free, 21+)
