The star of today’s art reception is this Old-World-charming gallery itself. It’s been operated for 47—47—years by the tremendously civilized Frenchwoman Francine Seders, now 80 years old. She’s got subtle taste in art, she’s never catered to the wealthy, and her quiet warmth has kept her a bit of an enduring mystery. She’ll still work from her house, but on Christmas morning—Christmas Eve is the gallery’s last day—Seattle art will be different. To us, Francine, you will forever be the cat’s pajamas. Here’s to you. (Francine Seders Gallery, 6701 Greenwood Ave N, sedersgallery.com, 2–4 pm, free)
