Some Sherlocks are too icy (Jeremy Brett in the BBC series) or too superhero-ish to believe (Robert Downey Jr. in the film franchise), but Darragh Kennan’s performance as Sherlock Holmes in this new adaptation of Baskervilles is just right. He can be prickly or exuberant, he has an impish sense of humor—in short, he’s a fully formed human being, and watching him cavort through this story with other stand-up Seattle actors (Connor Toms, Charles Leggett, Hana Lass) is an unalloyed pleasure.
