It’s time to celebrate Roger Reeves’s debut poetry collection, King Me (sample passage: “The Mike Tyson in me sings like a narwhal/Minus the nasally twang of sleeping in a cold ocean”), which on its own would be a great reason to throw a party. But Reeves’s publisher, Copper Canyon Press, is also inviting local poets to read and promising that “the first 100 RSVPs will receive a complimentary book of poetry at the door.” Since Sherman Alexie calls Copper Canyon the best poetry publisher in the US, this is kind of a huge deal.
