The latest in Ali el-Gasseir and Jonah Von Spreecken’s stripped-down, live-action weekend-morning cartoons lands the pair in Iceland where they work as tenders of the aurora borealis. As long as they keep up their Reykjavik-inspired synth-and-dance routine, the northern lights will shine. But when they start improvising and bickering—how very un–Northern European!—the lights vanish, and they must brave trolls, trendy nightclubs, and mid-2000s Disney musicals to find them. The weekend morning shows are great for chatty kids; the late-night Friday shows are perfect for stoners.
