A trip to the top of the Space Needle usually costs $18, but from 2:30 to 6 p.m., Mondays through Thursdays until May 22, you can take the golden elevator into the sky kinda-sorta for free—by spending $25 per person in the restaurant, preferably on drinks, while slowly rotating around the truly incredible view. (Then you can tipsily visit the observation deck, too.) The sunset menu has $5 beer, $6 wine, $8 cocktails, and $8 to $18 food. Until we the people of Seattle, led by Kshama Sawant, seize control of the corporate-owned city landmark, this is as good as it’s going to get.
