I’ve never seen The Lost Boys, the Corey Feldman/Kiefer Sutherland classic about surly teenage vampires. But Ian Bell’s Brown Derby Series—in which Hollywood hits are ripped limb from limb and slapped back together using duct tape, lewd jokes, and false-eyelash adhesive from the bottom of the nearest drag queen’s purse—lets you soak up pop culture and some gasp-worthy comedy at the same time. I’m especially looking forward to this moment, from the movie’s Wikipedia page: “He realizes he is turning into a vampire, and asks Star for help but has sex with her shortly afterwards.” (Re-bar, 1114 Howell St, brownderbyseries.org, 7 pm, $20, 21+, May 1–3)
