When Mr. Fox tires of his staid life and returns to his old nocturnal henhouse-raiding activities (“I’m a wild animal,” he rationalizes), he brings down the wrath of the local farmers, endangering the whole burrowing-critter community. Based on Roald Dahl’s novel and crafted by Wes Anderson in old-timey stop-motion animation, the film is full of intelligent wit and creativity. The weird animal personalities are a delight as they band together to stick it to the man. Cuss the man! (Central Cinema, 1411 21st Ave, central-cinema.com, 7 pm, $7 adv/$9 DOS, all ages, May 16–19)
