Every year, writers from around the world gather at the PEN World Voices Festival in New York to discuss translation and global trends in literature. And for two years now, Elliott Bay has been bringing the most exciting international authors from the festival to Seattle. Hot young Indian novelist Rahul Bhattacharya and Chinese satirist Yan Lianke will discuss cricket, Guyana, China's feeble response to the AIDS epidemic, and the pleasures and pains of getting published in America. Expect sexiness, too: Witty and profane Stranger Literature Genius Sherman Alexie will be hosting. (Elliott Bay Book Company, 1521 10th Ave, 624-6600, 7 pm, free)
