Airing for just two seasons on Starz, Party Down tracks the workplace doings of a Los Angeles catering crew staffed with aspiring actors, writers, stage moms, and has-beens—and the show reliably stumbles into deep, itchy hilarity. Tonight's TV Party features four episodes handpicked by series cocreator Rob Thomas. I tried to like it—the cast is good—but after a few episodes, I just couldn't get into the premise that famous people, and their eccentricities, are somehow interesting.
