In honor of the company's 10th anniversary, Macha Monkey remounts one of its big hits, a two-person Elektra. Back in 2001, Bret Fetzer wrote in these pages that the play presented the Greek tragedy through a filter of suburban squalor: "Instead of a monolithic chorus, a host of supporting characters (neighboring secretaries and soccer moms) provide snide, gossipy commentary as Elektra acts out her grief by scrubbing the driveway, and Clytemnestra boozes and seduces her lawyer in order to get a restraining order placed on her potentially vengeful son." This version stars Kate Jaeger and Erin Stewart. I hope it will live up to the reputation of its forebear. (Hugo House, 1634 11th Ave, 800-838-3006, 8 pm, $18)
