In Michelangelo Antonioni's 1966 movie Blow-Up, a playboy photographer discovers a murder by seeing in his picture what he missed in the actual scene. In Brian De Palma's 1981 thriller Blow Out, a sound effects technician similarly recognizes audio evidence of an assassination. In Up and Out, master mix artist Christian Marclay plays Out's soundtrack over Up's visuals, instigating a new forensic investigation after an act of aesthetic violence.
