'Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole'

Go ahead and make fun of me—I really do not care—but Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole is COMPLETELY GOOD. First of all, the animation is nuts. The owls look like actual owls, only with emotions and jokes and magical warrior helmets. Secondly, all the cutest types of owl are included—which are, in ascending order of cuteness: barn owl, burrowing owl, baby owl, elf owl. Pay attention. ELF OWL. Third of all, why are you such a bully? Owls are the nerds of the animal kingdom. They're good at only two things: being quiet and graduating from stuff. So why not let them have their day in the sun this once? I mean, not literally. They're owls. They're nocturnal. IT'S A METAPHOR. (See Movie Times: thestranger.com/film)

My only real problem with the film is the helmets. Who made them? How do the owls even put them on? How do they fucking fly around with big metal helmets on? WHY ARE OWLS WEARING HELMETS?

Anyway. Other than that, looks like a decent enough kid's movie.

You know, you keep going on (here and on TBTL) about how cute and unlikely as warriors owls are, but in truth they are raptors, and fierce-ass predators. So, yeah, fuck with an owl at your own risk.

@4: In the biz, we call this a "joke." Do you think I think owls really wear graduation caps and spectacles?

Wouldn't a better headline be: It's a hoot!

I think the CGI looks horrible enough to avoid this movie completely, however this review was a hoot. And burrowing owls really are omg cute!!!
