Winnebago Man chronicles the strange, sad, then not-so-sad fate of Jack Rebney, a corporate spokesman whose apoplectic outbursts on the set of a Winnebago promotional video made him one of the world's first viral stars. Perplexed and humiliated by his plunge into exploitative fame, Rebney retreated to a cabin on top of a mountain until filmmaker and fan Ben Steinbauer tracked him down. Rebney is fascinating and clever and magnetic and vulnerable and relentlessly hilarious—his careful, erudite, basso speech forever devolving into volleys of fuck-fuck-fuck-fuck-fucks. Winnebago Man is about an old man and a new world meeting halfway. (See Movie Times: thestranger.com/film.)
