Japanther at Mini Mart City Park

Mini Mart City Park is the new public park/art installation being made by SuttonBeresCuller out of an old Georgetown gas station. Tonight, four bands will play a "postapocalyptic picnic" at the park as a fundraiser for local experimental-theater troupe Implied Violence, which is preparing for a show in NYC. The bands: Irresistible Brooklyn fuzz-punks Japanther, whose past art-show participations have included playing puppet shows and synchronized-swimming performances; local sisters (and bro) TacocaT; the "Alabama ghost music" of the Pine Hill Haints; and Seattle screamers Strong Killings. Bring a blanket. (6525 Ellis Ave S. 7 pm, $5–$10 donation, all ages.)
