Today, this local folk/rock/Americana trio will release Welcome Joy, the flawless follow-up to their 2007 debut, and they're celebrating with a free performance at Easy Street Records. Go. It will be amazing. The band's repetitive guitar riffs and gentle drumming jog along at a laid-back pace while singer Peter Quirk's lyrics paint sepia-toned images of driving down deserted highways and swimming off the Jersey Shore. It's cheaper than a plane ticket and just as relaxing as any late-summer vacation. (Easy Street Records, 20 Mercer St, 691-3279. 7 pm, free, all ages.)
