Most married couples around Fred and Toody Cole's age have resigned themselves to quiet, early nights and fretting over their retirement funds. But the creative core of Oregon's Pierced Arrows are still hitting the dive-bar rock circuit, grinding out harrowing, riveting garage rock that's low on fidelity and high on compelling songwriting. Pierced Arrows follow naturally out of the Coles' previous beloved unit Dead Moon; they're like a Northwest X, but with more years and more grit under their scuffed belts.
