'Humpday'

After smashing runs at Sundance and Cannes, and a gala SIFF homecoming, Humpday lands in Seattle for a proper run. In Humpday, two thirtysomething, heterosexual male friends decide to have sex on camera and submit the results to HUMP!, The Stranger's amateur-porn competition. As I wrote in this year's SIFF guide: "From this ridiculous premise, writer-director Lynn Shelton spins a small miracle: a deep, hilarious, completely contemporary relationship comedy that explores with almost scientific precision how such a ridiculous premise would play out in real life." we get it. every gay dude at the Stranger loves anything to do with fucking a straight guy.

BUT THE MOVIE SUCKS.

I will only go see this film if Savage actually meets the challenge and sees the film himself with 10 of his best friends. So far he has not met this challenge, unless your idea of meeting a challenge is the same thing that Sarah Palin would do, which is not to meet the challenge, but say you did, over and over.

Until then, no go.

The movie doesn't suck at all. It was great to hear Ms. Shelton in a story on All Things Considered yesterday:

The 7 p.m. showing on Saturday was pretty good for an indie, but disappointing for a local film that's been hyped so much.

Anyway, I agree with #2. Ms. Shelton would be a sucker if she holds her end of the bargain; Dan clearly hasn't followed through with his.
