'Humpday' FILM / SIFF
'Humpday'

In Humpday, a pair of thirtysomething, heterosexual male friends decide to have sex on camera and submit the results to The Stranger's amateur-porn competition. From this ridiculous premise, writer/director Lynn Shelton spins a small miracle: a deep, hilarious, completely contemporary relationship comedy that explores with almost scientific precision how such a ridiculous premise would play out in real life. The results—executed by an ace cast led by the singularly appealing Mark Duplass—will have you squirming and howling. (If you can't make tonight's gala screening, there's a regular screening on Sunday afternoon.) (Egyptian, 801 E Pine St, thestranger.com/siff. 7 pm, $13–$25.)

slog writes about this damn movie as often as it can, of course we all know why but guess what, it sounds like a terrible movie, and straight men just don't decide to have sex with each other for laughs, the whole premise is retarded.

You're such a lazy troll I almost hate to comment, but as someone who's seen the movie, I can say that pretty everything you wrote in your comment and everything I wrote in my Suggest is completely and harmoniously true.

Making a work of art out of that "retarded" premise is the point of Humpday. People who like good things: Go see it.

@1 is correct.

That said, I'll probably see it anyway. Won't be as kinky as that French directed Japanese movie last night ...

Another good pick is The Missing Person tonight at 7pm at SIFF Cinema.

Tomorrow - Il Divo is playing at 11am at the Egyptian, Le Amiche at 1:30pm at SIFF Cinema, and you can see OSS 117: Cairo, Nest of Spies at Kirkland Park FOR FREE tomorrow night at Dusk (9?)

The big event will be Nak on Sunday at 11am - that is so going to ROCK!

I don't know how to buy tickets. I hate SIFF. Can't a guy just see a movie anymore?

'Humpday' is actually a very funny and engrossing film despite it's retch/yawn-inducing premise, description, and affiliation with the Stranger. Definitely go see it.

That said, David Russo's 'The Immaculate Conception of Little Dizzle', not 'Humpday', will be the 2009 made-in-Seattle film that will be talked about decades from now. It's rarely mentioned by Slog/The Stranger mainly, I'm guessing, because of Russo's active distain for the magazine.

You can see UP in 3-D at the Neptune right now, S7.

Or Harry Potter: Revenge of the Gerbils.
