OKOK continues its run of quietly excellent shows with While, featuring two artists who minimalistically reflect our national panic. Mauro Altamura shot the slightly ominous landing patterns of planes as seen from a hotel room near Heathrow. Anna Von Mertens made quilts depicting star rotation patterns above violent events in American history: September 11, Hiroshima on the morning the bomb was dropped, and the Battle of Antietam. All of those happened during daylight hours—these are what onlookers would have seen if the sky had turned black with disaster. (OKOK Gallery, 5107 Ballard Ave NW, 789-6242.
